Lenovo XClarity (XCC) Support on ThinkSystem Servers
Lenovo XClarity Controller (XCC) support on ThinkSystem servers delivers advanced service-processor control, monitoring, and alerting functions. Check out this document to discover three levels of features for XCC.
What is the Lenovo XClarity Controller (XCC)?
The Lenovo XClarity Controller (XCC) is an integrated service processor found in most Lenovo ThinkSystem servers. It consolidates various functionalities such as service processor control, monitoring, and alerting into a single chip on the server system board. The XCC is based on the Pilot4 XE401 baseboard management controller (BMC) and utilizes a dual-core ARM Cortex A9 service processor.
What features does the XCC offer?
The XCC offers three levels of features: Standard, Advanced, and Enterprise. The Standard level includes capabilities like system monitoring, alerting, event logging, and remote power control. The Advanced level adds features such as remote video viewing and OS deployment. The Enterprise level further enhances functionality with power capping, virtual drive mapping, and collaborative virtual console access.
How can I access the XCC management interface?
You can access the XCC management interface in two primary ways: through a command-line interface (CLI) using SSH or via a web-based interface by entering the management processor's IP address in a browser. Additionally, XCC can be managed locally using the XClarity Mobile app, which requires a physical connection to the server via USB.
